PFO is manufactured in the UK, made from used lubricating oil.

This product is subject to an End of Waste Quality Protocol (EoWQP) and governed by the Environment Agency. All manufacturers of this fuel must be registered and the output quality control is in many ways more stringent than a virgin grade.

PFO is covered under REACH and has full product status.

There are a number of uses for PFO. In the UK it's primarily used as an alternative fuel in asphalt coating plants albeit the majority of PFO in the UK is exported for use as a marine bunker fuel component.
